Short film review - 40 years by Russell Appleford

Last week I went to a screening of a short film entitled '40 years' its directed by Russell Appleford and is basically a short story of a man/boys struggle with an incident from his childhood in which he kills his younger brother.

I have a vested interest in the film as one of the small boys is played by my son Dom so we have been waiting for nearly two years to see this.

Russel has done a good job on the film with both special effects and camera work being of the highest quality - the film has an extremely low budget with most of the work being done by friends and colleagues that wanted to help and could add something extra to their CV's.

The screening was at BAFTA in piccadilly which was an excellent venue (drinks a bit pricey but what do I expect) and made us feel like we were part of the movie business.

So look out for the film at a film festival near you and keep an eye on the website www.40years.co.uk fo updates and perhaps the film itself later in the year.

I managed to find a few stills from the film (Dom is the boy in a pool of blood) see above.
